Lexus batteries do fail early once in a while. The battery on my 2016 RX 350 failed after 1 year and 4 months. One morning my car wouldn’t start - it was July so temperature wasn’t an issue. I jump started the car and went to my dealer. As soon as I got there and turned off the engine, the car wouldn’t start again. The dealer tested the battery and found one dead cell in it which makes the whole battery unusable. They replaced it under warranty no questions asked.

Sooo... how long does the warranty last? haha. I'm pretty sure I"m out of it as it's been 2.5 years.

On cold starts it takes a second to start up

Does anyone know what the exact size I need to buy?

Can't remember the life of the warranty, but I thing it's 3 yrs.

The size if the battery is : Group 24F

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...showing-2.html

Thanks! The warranty for the battery may be different than the other stuff.

I'll prob take a trip to the dealer soon

It should still be covered at least in a pro-rated way

I bought a similar brick-sized battery booster a couple of years ago from Walmart for just $40. Costco is selling a nicer-looking one for less than $60, I recall.

Only used my booster once, in the Costco parking lot, on a pickup truck in the parking spot next to me. A V8 and when he tried to start on his battery the solenoid would just click. We hooked up my little booster, and the first attempt was just maybe one revolution. Stopped, waited for 10 seconds, then tried again. Slower-than-normal cranking speed, but the engine fired right up! Amazing for such a little box. Lithium cells can flow a LOT of current. They'll discharge fast, of course.

So I am assuming any "group 24f" battery would fit?

Edit - Every website I go to .. says this 24F battery is not compatible..

When I search Canadian Tire, I find 24F for 2016, but no results for 2017 or 2018. I assume the database isn't up to date for the later years.

Just got it fixed!

The service advisor told me that the new Lexus vehicles like mine have way more sensors than before. He was telling me that this can cause a good amount of battery drain on the car if you don't drive it for a while. He also told me that mercedes vehicles have two batteries one for the engine and one for the sensor. It's like he was trying to sell me on a mercedes lol.

My vehicle is 2.5 years old but has 24,000 miles on it. They replaced the battery under warranty free of charge.

Did your battery kept on dying? Mine only dies when I have the car in the on position to play music.

Mercedes used to have 2 batteries, but that ended in 2006 I think, my 2008 only had one.

Today's batteries have to do a lot more than they used to, in the past one could get away with cheap batteries, not anymore! Now if you go cheap you'll spend more in so far as you'll have to replace the battery more often. Get the best you can afford.

There must be something wrong, when I put mine in accessory to play the radio after about 10-15 minute it switches off and a window appears saying, the radio was switched off to conserve power.
