I am having difficulties with the Bluetooth and nav in my 2016 RX450h, and the dealer said that the 2020 model will most certainly have CarPlay and Android Auto. More interesting, they say that Lexus IS working on making it available retroactively for 2016+ models too!

it is frustrating that Lexus IS wick to push software updates to add and delete apps but they don’t make functional upgrades at all.....my wife wants me to get rid of the car, so there might be a very clean RX hybrid on the market in NY soon!

That would be interesting. Have not heard anything about that in the pipeline, but def heard about the retro on some 18s and up on the other lineups.

My 2019 450h looks pretty 2016 . No panoroof or the 3 beam headlights. Kinda regret my purchase . My sales associate said the 3 beam would come standard on the 2020.

The panoroof and 3 beam were only available on the luxury packages . Lowest was @ 62k this was between two dealerships in SF bay area.costco auto program was - 5k off msrp . 57k pre tax and title fees. I got my kinda loaded 450h hybrid for 51k . Thought it was a good deal but a couple days and seeing peoples posts and pics i regret not getting an f sport model , the 3 beam headlights and panoroof. Let's be honest the single beam lights look dated. Getting the panoroof and triple beam kinda makes the rx right now future proof

It is not known what changes will be in RX450h, but RX350 2020 remains unchanged

Since this is the repair manual, could there still be some visual changes? Also, regarding Apple/Android updates, maybe an addendum to the manual. Wouldn't surprise me if Lexus put a separate manual for these updates, especially if they (at some point) can push to the pre-2020 models.

NCF (New Car Features) manual also cover 2016-2020 without any visual changes.
But, I like your idea about pre-2020 models, it gives us a chance to have new RX-2020
That's, well, you know, fingers crossed.

PS: at present the same information
-NX300/300h
-RX350/350L
-LC500/500h

Facelift
- RC-F
- GX460

This is ridiculous on the part of Lexus. RX definitely needs its multimedia system updated to match the new ES and LS. I doubt they will do an over the air update for pre-2020 models as I think Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require GEN 10 navigation system and RX is still at GEN 9. Very disappointing.

Why would they change something knowing it will sell no matter what they put out. they'll save it for the next batch and add it as a new or featured package

+1 on both points. People still buy RXs even more then any other higher functioning vehicles like X5s, Q7s, and MDXs. Partly due to the mechanical stability of the product that is the RX, and partly due to the "apologists" of Lexus who feel Lexus can do no wrong.

Anyways all is not lost, guy in the vid says something is arouind the corner for sure, and worst comes to worst, you can retro Carp;ay and AA from a third party forum memeber here
