That's just for the hitch, but when you get it from the factory you also get bigger Alternator, higher output battery, better cooling rad/tranny and a few other things. So let's compare apples to apples.
He is comparing apples to apples. The factory accessory hitch doesn’t include all that stuff. The trans cooler etc is included in the tow prep package which does not include the actual receiver hitch.

Towing pkg is a $200 option. Heavy duty Tranny and radiator cooling and prewired for the hitch. You can find the hitch package (Actual bolt on hardware) from anywhere from $400-800. Either through eBay or Online Lexus dealerships that have great online prices.
That's ridiculous! Do all carmakers do this? or only Lexus?
Others may offer something similar, but I'm only aware of Toyota and Lexus. I don't consider it ridiculous, I like the idea of having a transmission cooler, heavy duty alternator and radiator, all for 265 bucks. I have absolutely no intention of ever towing anything so would have no use for a hitch.
So, I'm happy!
I got it because I like using the auto stick, it should also be the same as the F sport that has the paddle shifters. The only difference that I’ve seen is the fifth gear downshift from sixth it slams it mostly in sport mode with sometimes in regular mode. I’ve also read that this is an issue with a lot of the RX is having tranny problems especially the 6– 5 downshift.
I know power folding rear seats was an available option in the past.. but looks like its 'standard' on 2020's. Even though there is a power folding and heated seat option for 1480, i think you're just paying that amount for heated rear seats. Also shows in 'standard' section when configuring a build.. https://lexus.us/2mHx6ty

Unfortunately, Whoever is working on the 2020 configurations on the Lexus website is clearly misinformed. Power folding seats are not standard. I just drove an F sport with the performance package the other day and it had manual reclining. Also the website does force you to purchase the panorama roof when the F sport performance package is selected. Again I drove an F sport with the performance package and it had the regular sunroof. Not sure why it’s so difficult for Lexus to get their stuff together regarding the new RX.
