2020 rx 350
Hello, I am about to purchase a 2019 base, kind of debating whether I should wait for 2020.
Will the 2020 base model has a new wheel design and the new front&tail LED light? Does anyone have a picture of the 2020 base?
thanks

Hi All,
First time poster. I've been eyeing this forum while debating which vehicle I would land on. I was in a tough battle between Volvo and Lexus but I think I've finally decided on the Lexus RX350. My Lexus dealer is telling me they won't have 2020 RX's on the show room floor until mid October. I had wanted to get into a new vehicle ASAP but I have anxiety that I'll get in a 2019 and regret I didn't wait for a 2020. Do you think these are worth waiting for? Style wise they seem basically identical... though the Apple Car Play would be nice.
Thanks for any insight and opinions.

For me, the biggest advantage of the 2019 is that the center screen is just far enough that I can comfortably see/read it without my reading glasses. I prefer the current joystick to a touchpad and I don't like touchscreens in cars because of the fingerprints. On the other hand, the Lexus navigation is egregiously bad and I would much prefer to use car play with my phone.
Price always is a consideration, but my dealership thinks the difference will be minor, like a few hundred dollars . To me, CarPlay is well worth the difference. I would like to have one today, but I will wait for the next couple of months for the 2020 models to show up. What I lose by not buying a 2019 is the ability to get a better deal.
Yes, my concern there is that when the 2020's do show up, there will be very few deals/incentive/reductions on offer and you'll be stuck with sticker price until they've depleted the 2019 inventory.
You are probably right. You might be able to get one a bit below msrp by dealing with the internet sales people at the dealership .

My dealership would like to sell me a 2019 today . I am the one who believes that the price difference (which will be higher) is worth it for some of the technology changes.
The real penalty is not getting a kind of "close out" type of deal that is available now.

Also what must be factored, is that one is buying a year old car! For trade valuation, mileage matters, especially if one drives significantly above the yearly average. But as long as condition is the same, for the average mileage driver, AGE determines residual value. For example, in a couple of months, just look at the blue-book difference for a 2019 verses the 2020 RX - comparing very low mileage on both. How does that difference compare to the year-end savings. Would you still come out ahead and if so, is it as much as it appeared when the deal was made?
I've always felt that if one is going to keep a car as long as we have our 2006 RX350, then upfront cost (as in year-end-pricing), is a realized savings. However, if you're going to trade as we are planning to do with out 2016 RX, then resale is of utmost importance. In other words, if the money you save or believe you save if you buy a year-END car, is offset by an equivalently reduced resale (in a handful of years later) because for example you bought a 2019 when you could have bought a 2020, then what really has been saved?
Another disadvantage of an end of year vehicle, could be you're unable to get the color, or exactly all of the options you want. In fact, it's possible you may actually pay a tad bit more. Because you may have to accept options you wouldn't have to take in order to obtain the color or some of the other options you really want, if you had the choice. Of course, this may not be the case. Nevertheless, it should be a consideration.
Lastly, it is short sighted to fret over paying a couple hundred dollars more for a model year factory pricing increase, when we're taking somewhere around $50,000. I'm all for saving money, but if I can afford a car like we're talking, a couple hundred bucks is really moot.
