I decided to replace tbe key fob batteries after 18 months of ownership. No issues, just preventive. Simple process just like the manual indicates. CR2032 is the battery - i bought a six pack at WalMart for $11. Three cars in the family all use the same one. My daughter's one year old Q5 was giving her a message that the battery was weak so that prompted me to change all six in the fleet😁
