Sounds like there's a software settings difference between Canada and US. The US might reset to a determined setting to attain EPA numbers.
Doubt if it's a Canadian thing. I'm in Canada and have had both a '16 350 and now an '18 450h, and they never stay in Sport mode after a restart. Only Eco and Normal will stay. Isn't that mentioned in the manual as well?
Unless Cocal had his/her car modded to allow to stay in Sport after a restart, I don't see how that is possible.

I agree and even confirmed with the dealer at one point when I inquired about having it default to Sport.
Incorrect - mine ALWAYS defaults to NORMAL regardless of the last setting.
I would have to agree here, mine does the same.
In reference to the OP, do you here this noise at all during idle? If you put your foot on the brake and go through the gears, can you catch it? Is it constant or does it come and go? I only ask all these as I had what I thought was an engine rattle. It would come and go, seemed to be worse on cold start. We were finally able to catch on video. Turns out, it was the vacuum pump. Replaced under warranty.
