Default 17/18 rx350?

Hopefully this is a ok place to post this. Went to the local deal there is a used 2017 with 4 k miles exterior color is #2 pick the interior is exactly what I wanted.

2018
#1 pick exterior but would have to settle for a different interior not bad but not my fav

Msrp prices same options
2018 53,479
2017 48,900
the used has 4 yrs of warranty and 2 extra plus 4 free services
without trying to get a hard number. What would be your first instinct to go get?

With just 4,000 the 2017 is new. Plus getting an extra two years and unlimited mileage warranty makes the deal even better. I would rather have the interior color that I wanted as opposed to the exterior. You will be sitting inside much longer than looking at the outside. If you could get the 2017 for $5,000-$7,500 less than new than it becomes IMO a no brainer. I just bought a 2017 RX 450h with 12,000 miles. Looked brand new. Saved $6,000 over new plus a longer warranty.

Drive both, check for hesitation, transmission, vibration, droning, and overall performance before deciding. If you are not sure what to look for, read these threads "excessive noise and vibration" and "hesitation problems". I'm happy with my '17.

Hint, to check for droning use eco mode and go up an incline. My car drones however it doesn't bother me at all (motorcycle rider).

I can add one thing to the quoted post. The droning noise happens at about 1500RPM

The 17 can probably be had for less. That's roughly what I paid brand new for the Prem Pkg equipped. Either way, keep in mind the FMV later on will also reflect the one year model difference if you don't plan to keep it forever.

Dealers have a lot less room to negotiate on used cars. If I were to guess, I'd bet money that you could get the new one at the same price or maybe even cheaper. Without the used warranty of course, but you have the new car warranty to fall back on. And, I'm always weary of fairly new cars that are up for sale. You know the last owner had to take a major bath trading in a vehicle with 4000 miles but they were still willing. Why? What's wrong with it? I won't find out...I only buy very used cars or just go new.
