Default Leasing an L-certified RX

Has anyone tried to lease an L-certified RX? Looking at a 2017 RX with pretty decent options for 45K. My thought process is that the previous owner should have absorbed the biggest price depreciation so my payment should be lower. Is it possible to get a better deal than the currently advertised national special (i.e. 3999 down 439 month for 46K MSRP). I want to put 2K down and pay no more than 400 per month for an RX with navigation.

this is not true. I am 100% sure that you can. The question is if it makes sense or not.

then your 100% wrong. haha.

cant do it toyota financing doesnt allow it. in fact NO CAR COMPANY allows it. you will have to do after market (which will cost you almost double than leasing a new car from the manufacturer).

In fact lets make a bet shall we? I like taking uninformed peoples money.

IMHO if leasing is what you want, just lease a new 2018. Leasing a used vehicle, while you can, is more risky than leasing a new one.

I am talking about a 2017 L certified vehicle with 12K miles down at about 12K below its original MSRP.

Not sure exactly what you want but i got a new 2017 luxury package in 2018 march. i have just been curious so i have been following prices for awhile just for my own amusement and i guess i have nothing better to do. If you are willing to take black, it looks Jim Falk Lexus of Beverly Hills still has some new 2017 luxury for ~ 45k. They are listed in their pre owend section but it appears to me they are new. This is about 13k off msrp. if black is ok you might want to look at this. Not sure the downside of buying a new 2017 now vs a new 2018 if you are fine with the very limited color selection, (considering the cash saved). (if interested you also might scour other dealers for similar deal). I imagine a new 2017 is always better than a certified. Any comments on this statement? BTW, personally i am glad i got the pretty much fully loaded version. Love pretty much all the extras being an old fart. I feel like i'm driving around in my living room with my feet up on the ottoman. Tried the f-sport and couldn't handle the seats. i'm sure i would have preferred it 20 years ago. A man got ta know his limitations. good luck.

I've talked to 2 different dealers and was told that I can. The first time I ended up getting a brand new car, the second time was yesterday. However I haven't received an official quote. Even on the web site where I saw the 2017 L certified RX it says "please ask about leasing this vehicle"

I've seen lease deals advertised for used cars but not sure if it was through the manufacturer.

I don't mind getting the 2017 at all. Looks like they have some good deals on the 2017 model but unfortunately all them appear to be FWD

That's S. Cal for you. We generally don't need AWD here. But you might search the country and find an AWD you like. not sure the best way, but you can try Cars.com and just filter on NEW and 2017. you might get some hits to get you started and be able to cross ref the jim falk for price with anything you might find. Not sure how good/complete cars.com is to other sites but i know you should be able get some info there.

Just got an actual quote on a L-certified pre-owned. It looks worse compared to leasing a new 2018 and the main reason as explained to me by the dealer is that the money factor is worse and the residual is more aggressive on the new vehicles. Don't know if it's through Toyota or 3rd party.

And here you thought you had discovered leasing a $60k vehicle for $400.

Yes like I said above leasing pre owned makes no sense what so ever. The money factor (interest) is crazy plus residuals are lop sided.

it’s not 60K though. It’s 44K because it is 1 year old. And you were wrong about Lexus Financial not offering leases on pre- owned vehicles. This is straight from lexus financial:
“Lexus Financial Services offers compelling leasing terms for L/Certified vehicles, ranging from 24- to 48-month terms, depending upon the age of the vehicle. Current-year through four-year-old pre-owned vehicles are eligible under this program.”
