I am looking at buying a 2016 RX450H that is fully loaded; including the pano roof. I pulled the service history and noticed that there was 3 incidents stating that the passenger sunroof garnish has fallen off. I'm trying to figure out which piece this is so that i can look it over. The car is still under warranty, so no worries there. But I'm curious to what the part is and why it's happened 3 times. If anyone know or can snap a pic it would be much appreciated!

 

First time I've heard the piece referred to as the "garnish". In any case, it sounds like the very common problem with the rubber trim piece just underneath opening part of the pano roof. The following thread is one of many who have come across this trim falling down into the cabin:

Mine's already fallen down three times, and I've just popped them back in. Comes loose very easily when you have the roof fully extended to the back and drive at any kind of brisk pace. I believe there was a person here who reported that their dealer installed a new trim piece (or maybe glued the existing one on) that fit better, and they haven't had that problem since.
