Default Rear Bumper Scratch Repair

We recently bought a used 2016 RX 350 and it had some scratches on the rear bumper. I tried to touch them up but you can only do so much with that and it doesn't match perfectly. I was quoted $300 by a reputable mobile bumper repair to sand, repaint, clear the area to look as good as new. Is this a good price for a white eminent pearl color? I've seen their work and they have good results. I've also thought about repainting the whole rear bumper, but then I would have to worry about a rental car and them blending and matching the paint. How much would this typically cost to repaint the bumper cover?

A good repair shop will remove the bumper cover and paint it off the car. I had it done and it cost approx $800. But well worth the money getting it done properly.

I’m sure they did a great job but damn $800? I could see 300-500 but 800 seems high for one bumper.

Not familiar with pricing in AZ but I think it's a fair price. I would ask him what his process is, but if he's reputable you should be good.

I agree with you and I went ahead and got the job done. It came out so good and well worth the money. It is as good as new!

Nice! Glad it came out well. How long did it take them to complete the touch-up? Good decision on going with a mobile touch-up painter. You don't need to spend $800 on repainting the entire bumper for something very minor.

It took about 3hours. Yes I agree with not repainting. The damage is not big enough to warrant that. And it’s a gamble when you have to repaint and worry about blending and matching the existing pearl paint.
