Park and listen
I sometimes park , want to turn the engine off but keep listening to the radio. I can't figure out how to do this without turning the car off ,losing the radio and restarting in ignition/accessory mode. I have gone over the manual with no answer.
How do I turn the engine off but do not interrupt the media?

As far as I know this cannot be done without turning it off first and then as you said, turning on the accessory mode. The other question that was also asked before by others and also by me is how to extend the accessory mode to more than 20 mins before it auto shuts off.

...instead of placing transmission into Park - place the transmission into Neutral > then push Engine Start / Stop to turn engine off > then place transmission into Park = this should place car into accessory mode with engine off, leaving radio / media powered and playing until power save mode is activated to save battery power (after about 20 mins).

Just to follow up, the manual confirms the posted operation works on the RX = Page 221 in online manual:
"When stopping the engine with the shift lever in a position other than P - If the engine is stopped with the shift lever in a position other than P, the engine switch will not be turned off but instead be turned to ACCESSORY mode."

In other words, shut the car off before you shift into Park, the radio will stay on.

Try this when you want to continue listening to audio in accessory mode (ACC mode)...
...instead of placing transmission into Park - place the transmission into Neutral > then push Engine Start / Stop to turn engine off > then place transmission into Park = this should place car into accessory mode with engine off, leaving radio / media powered and playing until power save mode is activated to save battery power (after about 20 mins).
This works on the IS, should also work on the RX. Just don't forget to turn the power off prior to leaving the car (push engine start / stop button again to power everything down). Good luck, and welcome to Club Lexus.
