OEM wheels are 20 X 8" 30 offset ( '16 FSIII). Are there issues using 8.5" rims (more available for winter tires)? Thx in advance

I think so..
Tirerack gives you options and they are 20x8.5 is 35-40mm
So just need to increase the offset a little bit.

A few of us run 22x10.5 with 30ET & 42ET all around with no problems. Common tire size is 265/40/22. I'm going with 295/35/22 next and they will clear.

Hopefully this gives you an idea of what fits.

Looking to stay with 235/20's for mud ice and snow, and used rims. Guess I'll have to keep looking for 20X8 rims.

I would double check the measurements from tirerack or even America's tires, just to make sure your speedometer isn't off.

If you get 20x8, you still have to get ones with the OEM spec offset if you want them to look flushed.

Ya, seems like OEM rims (listed as 8jjX20ET30 in the specs) are not popular is used rim ads. New ones are near $1200 CAD, more than I'd like to pay. I'm worried putting 235's on more available 8.5" rims might be curb bumpers. I know wider tires are cool, but I know wide is incrementally poor on ice and snow. I don't want tires extended wide to the point that extra mud splashes the side of the car. There should be clearance, but don't know best offset. I'm probably worrying too much. c'est la vie!!
