That is why Lexus selects these points as the jack points....to keep people from placing jacks under floor panels, etc. and destroying their cars.

Quantum501, you are not correct. There is a spot under the engine and a spot under the rear end to put a floor jack on to raise the entire front or rear. The side pinch welds are for the jack that came with the car to jack up only one side at a time, not the entire side of the car. Please read the owners manual, it explains everything I have said.

Not sure you understood what Quantum said. The pinch welds ARE the points Lexus has designated as jack points and is clearly explained as such in the manual. When you said "The side pinch welds are for the jack that came with the car to jack up only one side at a time", I think you meant to say "jack up only one WHEEL at a time.
When I rotate my tires, I jack up the front of the car and place jack stands under the jack points behind each front wheel, then jack up the back and place stands in front of each rear wheel.

I understand the pinch welds are for the scissor jack (or any jack with a slot for the pinch welds).
i had thought that jack stands go in a different spot due to the fact that the top of jack stands are not designed to fit over the pinch welds.

Please read my post above (#13). I explained the function of the front and rear lift points and the side placements for the jack stands. This thread is getting much too complicated for such a basic topic. Owners manual is perfectly clear as is my earlier post.

My jack stands (not the hydraulic floor jack) on all of my cars have always gone on the side pinch welds. My jack stands are grooved and fit/accept the pinch welds perfectly. Jack up front of car with front center location using hydraulic floor jack, place jack stands on two sides at pinch welds behind the two front tires. Jack up back of car with back center location, place jack stands on the two side rear pinch welds in front of rear tires. Entire car is supported by the four pinch welds. Keeps car level for fluid changes such as transmission fluids, etc. I usually also place other back up supports (not the hydraulic lift) just in case.

Correct, but my stands are designed with a slot to fit over the welds. Not all jack stands are. I'd be hesitant to put stands anywhere else on the frame side rails other than the designated spots.

The pictures above are excellent and exactly what I use.

If I am lifting the entire front or the entire rear of the car (ie. both the front wheels or both the rear wheels), I use the center front or center rear main jack point (se picture from 12-16-17) with my bigger hydraulic floor jack. For safety, I usually then place a small safety jack stand under the side jack points by each door just in case my center hydraulic jack would fail.

If I need to lift just one wheel, I use the side lift points by each door (see picture from 4-3-18). This would be what I would use with the Lexus scissor jack if I had a flat tire on the highway.

I also use wheel chokes so the car can't roll.

I don’t have running boards, was planning to add them. But based on this information, the pinch points are blocked by the boards?

What does one do if faced with a flat tire, on a running board equipped RX?

what if we want to lift up just one side of the vehicle ? say to rotate driver front tire with driver rear.

Are these points okay to place stands? i want to know what other points are safe to place stands. Like differential, cross member etc.

Below: frame rail

Below: inside of pinch weld

I would not use any other jack points than the pinch welds and the center points, as documented in the owner's manual. I used the pinch welds when rotating my tires front->back, back-> front.

DO NOT use the frame rails, you will dent it. ONLY use the pinch welds. If you dent the frame, the integrity of the car will be compromised, and will not be safe to drive.
