Default Truly OEM looking Qi Wireless Charging

Hi there, I've read through the various threads regarding wireless charging solutions since US models do not contain the weak Qi charging available in other country. I like the idea of using the OEM location to install a high speed charging solution that looks like the OEM setup (no wires, no usage of the cigarette lighter, a button to activate it, and inset INTO or placed just under the floor of that cubby hole. I dont see where someone has done this before. I dont like the idea of having something in the cigarette lighter holding the phone with a metal piece as another thread has done, or a wireless charger plugged-in to the cigarette lighter and sitting in that cubby.

Has anyone wired in a wireless charger and placed it into the floor of that cubby? Hardwiring it to a switched line would be great and one could seemingly add a switch on the cluster on the left of the steering wheel that is for the wireless charging. It might be possible to put a wireless charger under the bottom of that cubby as the plastic wouldnt block the charge as long as the distance to the phone is small enough.

Default Current link?

[QUOTE=Ttran88;10023819]Here’s an option if you’re like me and like a wireless charging solution with no visible cords and don’t have the factory QI integration. It allows you to see google maps while charging! I placed a magnetic plate in the phone case so it mounts onto the charger. There are other solutions but requires a mount and doesn't look clean at all and there is a microusb cable coming out of it. This one goes right into the cigarette charger. Link if interested.

Is there a current link to this product? I haven’t been able to find it anywhere.

Default Wireless Charging

Ok - so for those of us in the US who have a 2016 or 2017 (yours truly) who don't have wireless charging, I just use a small charger with a short cable and a small power adapter that fits nearly flush in the 12 volt charger. I know the wire can be a bit unseemly, but the one I have is only about 6 inches and doesn't flop all over the console. I only use this set up for longer trips out of town as my I phone X generally lasts all day on a charge. What do you guys think?

FWIW - the phone does not slip at all on that base and charges well.

This is my wireless charging installation. I chose one coil 20W, since the phone can be positioned only in the middle of the space anyway. I cut the plastic and positioned the coil inside the hole, so it is closer to the phone. There is a rubber cover and it hides the coil completely.

Default Adding a wireless charger - 2019

Is there an option to add a wireless charger at the bottom of front console to 2019 RX350? If Lexus doesn't offer it, are there any aftermarket products?
I guess one way would be to buy a pad and have the wire run to the lighter which is next to it. That seems to be reasonable as the wire would be almost hidden, but looking for some kind of permanent solution so the pad doesn't move.

I would think your post should be in RX 4th gen section.

I would not buy the OEM. I have that it is completely useless. WAY, WAY too slow.

Try a small puck that powers off of 12V outlet

Ah, my bad, not sure how I made it here, hopefully the mods will move it.
Puck might slide around, I was thinking something like this:

Default Trying the OEM again

So so I called the dealer and told them about my issue and he said the bring it back and they’d give me my money back. Which is good because almost always they never give all your money back especially on electrical parts, so I got lucky.

I’m not sure if I got a dud or there is more to the install than just plug and play. Lexus parts guy and myself seemed to think there might be more to it than just plug and play, so we got me my money back.

I’m probably just going to install the Scosche unit I posted a few posts above as it I’ll be able to get a clean OEM like install and not have any wires be seen.
I just got a OEM wireless charger to try on my 2017 rx350 I'll let everyone know if I have different results.

That would be great. Show us what the final result looks like.
