In other vehicles, I've used the fram filter with febreeze built in. It seems ok. I've heard good things about Mann filters with activated charcoal but I've never tried them.

Pole Position
The filters are some what small with limited surface area. It would take a larger surface area with activated charcoal to do any good. I think the OEM is mainly for dust and particulates.
