I beg the differ. Ambient lighting meant to change your mood, therefore different colors. Have you been to the 787 Dreamliner or German products? It is not a distraction and no it doesn't reflect either. You can also adjust brightness. Just some random white lights so you don't stumble when walking in are not ambient lighting.

expectations/Marketing image vs Reality

These are not like Audi level or S class level led lights that are all the place, but these are still ambient lights. The image clearly is stylized to the point the floor is no longer their just a halo

When did the led interior lights become luxury feature? I remember when I was in the car mods game in the early 2000s, all the fast and furious rockets has all kinds of different color LEDs inside, they eventually died out, and the luxury cars picked it back up???

Yea true, but I guess the 3m sticky tape with wires runnign in the footwell paired with green luminscent gauge lightning really is the same as the above. Sarcasm aside, I think its more tastefully and form wise done up better.

Lol

If I wanted Mercedes i wouldnt be posting things here.
I get what you are saying, in your experience Mercedes offers this solution better than Lexus but may be that is what you know and
some folks here might have tried something that would make these lights appear different.. so let other chime in here.

Also has anyone noticed. Its actually decently bright when the car is in Park, but once you put it in Drive the ambient lighting dims. Checked Carista no config option for this.

Thats by design to prevent glare in the cabin while driving. My Azera does the exact same thing.

I understand what youre saying, but I think LED lighting has gotten reliable enough where worrying about it "going out" really isn't all that relevant anymore. Case in point, my 2007 BMW 328i has it on the doors and I've never had an issue with them. I would argue that there are way more likely places to look for the vehicle to fail than with LED lighting.

Personally, I'd like to completely disable the ambient lighting in my 350L Luxury without disabing the door light that turns on when opening a door. Seems Lexus tied these together or I haven't found a way to have the door light but not ambient lighting.
