Starting a thread to highlight this issue I am facing. When I make phone calls or receive phone calls, I only see the name and number of the person at the other end, but not their contact Photo.
I can confirm that the contact has a picture that displays on my phone.

There is an obvious placeholder to show the contact photo, but is is blank. FYI, I have Nexus 6.
I also searched Google images w/ various search terms to see some picture w/ ongoing phone call displaying the contact photo, and can't find one either.

 

From my understanding, if the phone is capable of that, that photo has to be stored on the phone. Not linked from Facebook, etc. But the phone has to be able to push contact photos to the car. But I couldn't find any info on compatibility either.

Thanks Bootman. Don't like that Nexus-6 doesn't support contact pics, but I can live w/ it.
I pre-ordered S7 edge too , so the inconvenience is only for another week or so.

BTW, how did you manage to get the S7 Edge, I thought they didn't start shipping yet.

 

Does this work good with the iPhone?

 

I preorderd from T-mobile last week and it came on 2/29.
I'm not complaining.

But just a warning.
If a phone update takes away the pics, don't blame Lexus.
It happens. I'm just glad text reading works. That is good enough for me.

 

Siri works over it and if you have music on your phone it handles that better than on an android.
But no pics on my work 5s from calls.
Yes for pics for music.

 

My contact images did not move to my 4RX from my 6S+.

Not a problem for me, number and name is good for me.

 

I think it must be how Lexus implemented this. If just a year old flagship phones (Nexus 6, iPhone 5S, 6S+) don't work it is pretty bad.

 

Apple is notorious for locking down their iOS. I wouldn't put the blame solely on Lexus.
