I only want it for the UV protection for the dashboard and honestly, to help keep the interior cooler if it does. But if not, maybe I shouldn't even get it if it distorts your vision.
From what I understand the angle make it distort worst and the angle of the 4RX is pretty shallow. I have never seen any tint that I did I not consider to be somewhat degrading to vision and am pretty happy with the factory tint. Happy enough to hold off and would never consider tinting the windshield.

Yea understand what you're saying.. Because I have tried other tints on the windshield with other cars which were darker and every time I got out the car my eyes felt a bit weird for few seconds especially on sunny day.. That's why I think llumar Air 80 keeps it clear and doesn't have your eyes adjusting so much to light.. I guess a question to ask is how does your eyes feel with Sun glasses ? I personally do not wear Sun glasses when driving or hardly ever do... Here's a pic from the interior with Air 80 on the windshield and F1 P 50% on the sides...

I am always wearing my sunglasses while driving during the day. The distortion I am talking about is a slight optical distortion I have seen on any tint I have looked through. It is not so bad when looking through at a 90 degree angle like you side glass but it is still there. It is much worst when looking at the tint on glass on an angle.

Oh ok I get it now... Too bad we can't opt for Factory tint like the rear...

Agreed.
To many states with different laws. I would be fine of the windshield was a bit darker but my sunglasses do it for me and corrects for lacking near site.
Thanks. I will most likely NOT be getting the 3m crystalline.
Doesn't seem worth it.
i WILL however get a clearplex windshield protector to protect my OG factory windshield from rock chips!
Let us know how the clearplex goes....my tint installer used to carry it but demand wasn't high enough and i think he got a few complaints about scratching from the windshield wipers, so he stopped doing selling it. How much does it cost?

A guy in socal who has been doing it forever is charging me 500..
Honestly, more expensive than a new windshield but I've had new windshields installed and it's honestly NEVER the same as factory.
My neighbor had this put on his Range Rover and the second I got in you could see it distorted.
I wonder if F1 Pinnacle is better than Crystalline for windshield applications. When I had windshield tint I was less tired after a long commute. The sun coming in the windshield is really tiring. It was also nice not wearing sunglasses. Weird at first, but i got used to it.

My neighbor knows more about it than me be even he is disappointed in the Crystalline distortion. It does cut down the glare and likely the heat but I wear sunglasses to correct my close vision and been wearing for so long that it is near impossible to go without. My eye doctor who does my yearly exam say that we should wear UV protection outside to prevent cataracts. But from what I understand very little UV get through a car windshield.
I did Formula One Pinnacle 30% on the front side windows and Llumar Air 90 on the windshield. The Pinnacle 30% is almost an exact match to the rear windows privacy tint and the Air 90 is legal in Texas and blocks 28% of the heat ( it is NOTICEABLE and you do not have to squint your eyes in a sunny day nor do I see artifacts / glare at night ). LLumar Air 90 features a VLT of 86% which is virtually clear and 13% glare reduction. The installer put a transparent sticker on the drivers window to show any cop that the tint is legal. They didn't even offer illegal darker tints for sale.
