I have used mine in traffic jams and have even let it come to a complete stop on it's own, although I had my foot hovering over the brake because I was very skittish about letting it do this. It does work great for traffic that speeds up/slows down constantly, but as others have said it does need the driver to get it going again from a stop. I think it is very convenient for traffic that slows but does not stop.
