I have owned many Lexus vehicles and seldom is there a problem. I do not think there is a more dependable vehicles on the road and that includes the new RX like my own. All the electronics and luxury package installed and all works perfectly. My poor neighbor had to have me pick him up at the Rangerover dealer this am, about his 6th visit and it is less than 3 months old.

I just do not understand the choice of a Land Rover. They are expensive and next to the bottom in dependability.

I've had several Lexus first year's

2011 CT
2014 IS
2015 NX

Besides a battery issue with the IS (replaced under warranty), no other reliability issues whatsoever with any of these cars. What's impressive the most is the CT being a new model, but especially the NX with the brand new 2L Turbo and tech. Dead reliable!

I'd buy the '16 RX in a flash if "first year reliability" was the only thing stopping me since most of the engineering is a refinement of existing hardware/software from the past RX or other Lexus models such as the engine, 8-speed, and all the passive and reactive safety features.

if you can wait...i would for the 2017 as there will probably be little tweaks...and it is the safe way to go...if you can't wait...i.e need a car now, the risk is low that you will have any major issues...just maybe miss out on some tweaks that will come in 2017

V6 10 year old engine should be ok, especially if it does not have any turbos.

Ugh, just discovered a problem with my SUV. I got the car thru a dealer trade from a dealer that was about 120 miles away and a porter had to drive it up to my area. I hope he did not abuse my car during the drive...

Anyways, occasionally during hard accelerations from a dead stop and/or hard accelerations between 2K -4K RPM, i hear a CLICK outside which kind of sounds like a bird chirp.... Had a service tech jump in the car with me and they confirmed they heard the noise. So, they told me to drop off the car Monday since the shop foreman is out of town this week.

Agreed. And as a follow up to my poor neighbor's problem. It is dead in the garage again. The Landrover people will be sending out a tow truck again. He is going to look into the lemon law for help.

He should have spent the additional $$$ and got the tow truck option.

Wish they "improved" with the NX.

Such a tempting vehicle, but too slow, no safety features unlike the RX, and it just doesn't seem right. But man, I want that car so badly.
