Default Remote touch interface issues

Looks like my joystick and console buttons near the joystick no longer work. From what I can tell, it’s an issue with the remote touch interface.

Basically this is what I’m thinking needs to be replaced:

Remote touch interface

Is this a common failure point for the 4th gen? It’s a 2017 with ~80k miles. Any reset or other diagnosis procedures I need to be aware of? Also, I don’t see any YouTube videos out there to replace this unit; would be great if someone has done this before. Thanks.

Sorry I can’t give a real answer, but I’d suggest if you have a compressor you could try blowing all the controls out. I’d expect dust works its way into all these parts. Try blowing them and vacuuming them and see if it improves. The touch pad on my ‘22 occasionally sticks down and I’m assuming this is why. No disassembly YT vids for me either. Problem for hands on people like us is that the typical owners of vehicles at this price point and up are drop it off at the dealer people. I do wish Haynes or Chiltons would print a manual for these things.

Sure! Take a look at the thread I created here with pictures. It is extremely straightforward.
