I recently bought a certified 2021 RX 350 FSport from the Lexus dealer and just noticed that the red leather seat on the driver's side is worn to white in one particluar area. It's obviously from getting in and out. Has anyone had this issue? If so, does any one have ideas at to alternatives as it has just passed a 4-year warranty and it has 39K miles. I was not expecting this from a Lexus.
You can also use the search feature box on the right side and type in leather as this has been asked before.
You could try a local car detail shop for ideas on what they can do for you, or a local car upholstery shop.
If a do it yourself type, you can clean and refinish the bottom cushion yourself with a kit from Leather Renew. I did this on my 2010 RX350. Be sure to also get the clear coat to protect the color coat. They have a chart to find your seat color. https://www.leatherrenew.com/product...e-leather-kits
I used the kit with the foam brushes.

I’ve heard the F-Sports are a little more susceptible to this kind of wear since they have higher bolsters than the base models. People dragging themselves across the bolsters when getting in and out make the wear occur much faster. The larger the person, the worse it is too. I wonder if your seat was previously “repaired” and the coating didn’t hold up very well? Keep us informed on what you do to fix it! A lot of us will be in the same spot one day.

Just a catch up on what I have found out on the F Sport seats. I went to two upholstery shops and both stated that the material of the F Sport seats are very different than regular seats. The pseudo leather is bound to the foam so it's impossible to upholster. And they had no recommendations. So..... for now I am just careful getting in and out. The other solution is obviously to buy a new seat back which will set you back about $550 plus shipping.

I am very familiar with trim shops as a good friend of mine used to own one. Just because one turned you down, don't give up. Try a different one. These problems can be fixed if you find the right shop. Keep going and good luck.
