Programming a Lost / Found Key Fob
Long story short: for my 2016 RX 350, I lost a key fob, got it replaced by Lexus, and then later found the original. The original one no longer works, but I'd like to make it work so I can have a spare key in the household. When I tried unlocking the door and then putting the fob next to the Start button, it wouldn't turn on.
Any ideas? Sounds like if I go through a Lexus dealership, it might cost $400+. That seems steep for a spare key.
Thanks!

There is a function in the Techstream key registration utility that allows the "lost keys" to be deleted from the system. Review your invoice, if that was performed the deleted key(s) can never be used or registered again.
I feel your pain. I misplaced my main fob for 5 months and it was driving me crazy. When I had my car serviced, I asked how much for a new fob + programming and was told $400.
In the end, I found it in the pocket of one of my bathrobes. LOL!
