Hi folks, I’m still seating for used Lexus and I found 2 options:
2017 $29k, 52k miles FWD
2018 $32k, 39k miles FWD
They are both of the same ext and interior color but I’m confused if I should send more and buy one with lower miles.

I would grab the 2018 for $32,000 and never look back.
I was lucky to find my 2022 RX Luxury. It had 10k miles and was a CPO (4 yrs with 2 yrs maintenance). What I did was search for a RX with the options that was a 'must have'. I know I wanted the Heads Up display and the ML system. The bonus was, with those features, the RX usually came with the 20" wheels and fog lights. So, in other words, maybe search for an RX with the features you want and the year you want.
@15RX98422 I'm also looking for a 2022 Lexus RX Luxury. What site did you use to find and search for those options?
as a 2017 owner I would definitely suggest a 2020+ model because of CarPlay. But honestly, the car is absolutely solid and you should be good with any model year from 2017 on. Good luck! And let us know Which one you ended up with.
I just went thru this process- wanted luxury 2022 Rx hybrid, for th 6 cylinders technology and safety features. Did a nationwide search-wide search thru multiple sources: car guru, car max. I found multiples on the west coast, but that was too far/too expensive/ too complicated/ time consuming to ship.I finally located a beautiful certified car in Charleston SC, which was a short hop for me. Suggest you cast a wide net in your search

Any chance you can provide me with the site or tool you used to do a nationwide search with selected options/features please?
I have installed two of these units on my GS’s and they work flawlessly. Might be worth factoring into your search because cost for a pre-2020 may be much less even after purchasing an aftermarket CarPlay unit.
ALSO, extremely important if you are looking at the 2016-2022 with the 3.5L V6 to make sure that it DOES NOT have a timing cover leak. This is a problem for these V6’s and cost to repair at Lexus is $6-7k because they have to pull the engine out to re-seal. Many RX owners that service their cars at Lexus have had this repaired under warranty for no cost. I would recommend checking service records to make sure the previous owner serviced at Lexus. I almost bought a 2017 RX350 with 90k miles on it and when I had the owner take to Lexus for a pre purchase inspection they found the leak and a total of $19,000 worth of repairs needed. Owner refused to take the vehicle to Lexus and pay their absurd prices for service (his words, not mine). Now his vehicle listed at $22k that he owes $14k on needs $19k worth of repair work…YIKES!
I was here looking for similar advice. I usually try to stay at or below 15k miles per year but today found a 2021 with 76k. It appears to have all it's service, but i'm hesitant. I do like the newer models and was concerned with some of the lack of upgrades to the infotainment in the 17-19 models. I don't know how important Android Auto is for me to pay more for a car, but this one is in my price range because of the higher mileage. I had been looking at 60-80k mileage but on 2017-2019 models. I want to stay below $30k for a car. Some of the older cars had the Navigation system but if I have to pay to keep that somewhat updated (and have read the updates are not that great) I may just be as well off to continue to use my phone for navigation.
I had originally read that the leak was on older models and had been rectified. Now I'm really concerned about buying. I was definitely getting an inspection prior to purchase. How easy would it be for them to know? The last vehicle inspection I had done prior to a purchase was someone I knew, so I could easily discuss my concerns. I will have to be diligent about this one. One of the vehicles I am looking at did not have much work done at Lexus. It's had 2 owners in only 4 years. Makes me wonder if they don't want to deal with a costly repair.
