Can't upshift from steering wheel controls?
Hi All,
I have a 2021 RX 350 F-Sport fully loaded with the adjustable suspension, etc.
My question...
Regardless of what drive mode you're in, but let's be specific and reference "Sport" mode which hangs onto gears longer...
WHY does the car allow you to ONLY up-shift from the gear selector and not the steering wheel controls?
I can down shift from steering, but not up shift.
This is especially needed when in Sport mode, as the gears are hung onto for longer - but starting from Gear 4, it holds the gears far too long, hence needing to UP shift to the next gear - but, you can't do that from the steering inputs. You must shift the car to manual control from the gear selector, shift up, then go back to auto mode.
If I wanted to DOWN shift, the steering control works, but not UP shift.
Which engineer in their right mind programmed it this way?
Is there a way to defeat this?
