Loose cable under drivers seat goes nowhere in my '17 RX 350
I was vacuuming around the drivers seat, moving the seat to it's front and back limits, when I saw a loose 4-Conductor cable, lying under the seat. The picture shows the end of the cable that APPEARS to be a lens to a small Penney sized LED light, or maybe a sensor of something. The other end disappears into the bottom of the center console, about where your wrist would be. I cannot find any cable like that under the front passenger seat.
If it is a light, I have not found any way to turn it on. If it's a sensor, I haven't found anything (so far) that is not working.
Does anyone recognize this cable, or have any idea how it attaches to the seat? It's possible that it was installed by a previous owner, but I don't recognize it as any kind of comm-link, or wireless sender.😟

Possibly an optical fingerprint reader / antitheft device.

Probably previous owner installed some kind of gizmo and took it with him when he sold it. If you want, you can try and trace the wire to see where it goes. If not.....forget it!

Still a mystery
Yeah, it could be any of those; my biggest concern was it may be a temp/humidity sensor, an I/R Detector, or an air bag detector. With the lens off it doesn't look like any kind of LED:multicolored, I/R, or U/V. Doesn't light up with any lights on. Not going to mess with it as long as everything else works. It probably informs Lexus when you're working on your own car!! 😆

If the previous owner took the device that connect to the sensor you found. Wonder why they didn't take the sensor. I see midway of the wire has a connector to disconnect it.
Interesting, I would be puzzled too.
