Default Question on cabin temperature display

Is it normal for only one cabin temperature to show when only the driver is in the car? The passenger side doesn't show unless a passenger is seated in the vehicle.

My 2021 RX does the same thing. No temperature setting is shown on the passenger side if it isn't occupied.

I guess I should have read the manual: S-FLOW mode In S-FLOW mode, priority for the airflow is given to the front seats, reducing the airflow and air conditioning effect on the rear seats. If a passenger is not detected in the front passenger seat, priority for the airflow will be given to the driver's seat only. In this case, the temperature indicator for the front passenger side will turn off. S-FLOW mode will be activated automatically according to the set temperature, outside temperature, etc. (P. 502)

Dude! There is no way to fix, it's part of the vehicle design!

The temperature display on the passenger side should not be lit unless someone is sitting in the passenger seat. That's not part of the design. I'm looking for a solution so that it only comes on when it is supposed to come on.

It is not a "part of the vehicle design" per se, but rather S-Flow settings (as mentioned above). Turn the S-Flow off and you won't have that issue anymore.

I've tried that but unfortunately it didn't resolve the issue. The passenger side temp display comes on during one trip and then 30 minutes later it'll be off during another trip, without me having to press any buttons. There's no rhyme or reason for when the light comes on.

I'm almost certain it's going to be related to another issue. The heated seat button is said for auto. It should not activate unless someone is sitting in the passenger seat. But it's not working correctly either.

The passenger seat sensor is wonky, it sounds like. Wasn’t that part of the airbag recall issue?
