Default RX - 4th Gen Tail Light Replacement

I am trying to replace the driver-side tail light in the rear lift gate for a 2017 RX350. This requires removing the “Rear Liftgate Molding Garnish” (the piece below the window with the Lexus “L” logo). The top part which abuts the rear window comes away easily but the lower, chrome piece seems pretty locked in. I don’t want to damage it by pulling too hard. Could someone share how to remove that piece? Thank you!

It's bolted from the inside under the carpet panel. Once you remove that, you'll find 4 bolts that hold that entire trunk garnish to gain access to the tail lamps.

Thank you! Just to clarify the locations of the bolts -- are they along the lower portion (chrome portion) of the garnish?

I do not recall exactly but they’re black bolts.

Hope the diagrams help!

I'm having problems removing the carpet liner. I removed the obviously panels (upper and lower), dis-connected a couple light cover assemblies. Do I just yank out the sucker? There's video of a Lexus Master Technicaan removing it from a 2010-2015 Lexus RX350 and there's a couple covers to open where I need to remove a couple 10mm nuts. But, I don't see that in this model. Afraid to just yank it out.

Would you be able to provide some guidance? i think once I remove that, should be good to go.
