Default Knee Hitting Start Button

I recently purchased a 2019 F Sport and have made numerous adjustments to the seat and my seating position. However, I'm still struggling with my right knee consistently hitting the plastic surrounding the start button. Despite my searches, I haven't come across anyone else discussing this problem. Is there anyone else who has experienced this? Any solutions? I’m 6’1”.

I am 6' and drove a 2018 and now a 2022. I sit low and back a bit and my knee is nowhere near that area. I extend the steering wheel fully out and away from the dash and leave a good bit of space. On long drives I do move around a bit just to vary my position for comfort. In my most normal position, my knee rests against the left side of the console area.

I am 5-10 and my knee hits the dash too. I have adjusted the seat so that I sit high and the back is fairly straight and the seat is all the way back. It just depends where you tilt the seat and back to get away from being near the dash. The steering wheel is all the way out. The seat needs to have more travel towards the back.

I haven't had my coffee yet, and honestly thought I was on the Miata forum I'm a member of when I first read this post.

Thank you for your suggestions. I experimented with adjusting the seat by moving it further back, which did help position my knee in front of the button. My previous experience with a Cayenne had a more upright driving position, so it's possible I just need to adapt to a more relaxed posture. I have plans to install Beat-Sonic's CarPlay later this week. If I can't find a comfortable setup, I'm considering relocating the button to the console and eliminating the plastic bump.

Moving the start button to the console would be a major job. I'd give that some thought first.

Agreed, a last resort option.

For what it's worth I'm 6'4 and I've never hit that area. Its very possible to adjust the seat and still be comfortable without hitting that area. I had to tweak mine but once I got it, I saved it so I woudn't have to do that again. Good luck.

I am also 6'4 and long legs. I've never had a problem with hitting the start button. The seat is all the way back and it's also all the way lowered.

To get the greatest setback from he dash, the seat must be in it's lowest position and full back. The seat moves closer to the dash as one raises the height of the driver's seat. I would prefer to sit a little higher, but not willing to sit closer to the dash.

Thanks all. I’ve played with settings some more based on the suggestions and finally found the sweet spot. Happy to have found this group!
