Default Heated mirror temp question

I have a 2012 RX350 and the heated side mirrors don’t work the way they intended, although they did get about 10 degrees hotter than they were initially during a test today.

Is there a temperature range these mirrors are supposed to be in order to be effective? Here is a photo of one mirror on my FLIR after about three minutes on. The white on the mirror indicates heat. Thanks!

Only mention of the outside mirror heaters in the Toyota Tech pages is:Mirror Heater Function
  • The mirror heaters use a heater element in both outside rear view mirrors to help defog them.
  • The mirror heaters are controlled by the air conditioning amplifier.
My guess is that the mirror temp will reflect the HVAC temp settings (air conditioning amplifier).
Have you tried your readings with different temp settings and at different ambient temperatures?
