Default ECM location on 2010 RX350

Hello everyone,
does anyone know where the ECM is located on a 2010 RX350, and also how to remove it?
I've been having random issues with the car. The CEL is on, I'm also randomly getting warning lights for the steering system, oil pressure, etc. Sometimes the car shuts down and doesn't want to start up again.
I took it to a Toyota dealership and was told the issue is the ECM and they wanted $1,600 to replace it. I figured I'd try to take the ECM out and send it for repair.
Thank you!

Remove glove box, it is then on right side (US passenger) above footwell.

Before replacing ECM, I would put a new charged battery in it, clear all the codes, and try again. Not that stealership <<<<< dealer would tell you wrong, but probably needs a new batt anyway, and low, weak battery cause all kind of mayhem. Also, lot of connectors to check for looseness.

Thank you Mesquite77!!
I recently replaced the battery, and this started happening the day after.
I tried to connect through the OBD2 port, but the scanning tool couldn't connect to the ECU. I could connect to the other systems (so the port was working).
At that point I decided to tow the car to the local Toyota dealership. They told me that they found a P060B code, which is why they recommended that I change the ECM.
Looks like P060B is due to an internal processor error.

A new battery is not always a good battery. It may need charging or it may be defective. The fact that your issue began after replacing your previous battery would cause me to suspect the new battery as the source of your issue. I would return to the store where you purchased your current battery, discuss your issues with them, and swap it out for another one.

Your new battery either needs a deep charge or is defective. Many new batteries sit on the shelf at the store for so long they really need a charge before sale but none of the stores do this. My neighbor bought a new battery that died the next day! He borrowed my charger and it took almost 24 hours to fully charge the battery! It has been fine since then.

Prerequisite of interpreting ECM codes is having a good battery. If the battery is weak, you may have to drill down the route of testing the vehicle charging system [alternator or inverter]. I am not discarding the importance of ECM codes, but before embarking on substantial effort/$$$ one should make sure that the information being gathered is not being influenced by bad environment.

Default Same problem

I have been having issues with my 2010 RX350 similar to your previous problem in 2022. It started with wonky things happening with the stereo system. Then it randomly began refusing to start. It will always immediately respond to being jumped off. I have had the battery replaced several times, although they tested okay. Now the power steering has suddenly locked up. Would you share the outcome of your problem and what repairs were necessary?

The thread originator zebra2000 has not been on this forum since March 2022 and is unlikely to respond.
Does the steering unlock when the car is jumped?
It may be the ECM or bad battery cables, or connections or rodent damage to wires etc. Or something else entirely.
It is difficult to diagnose over the internet and you probably need an experienced independent shop to check it out. I would not go to a dealer.
Use this database link of recommended shops to find someone nearby, then cross check them on Google or Yelp as some reviews are old. https://www.cartalk.com/mechanics-files
