Leak around front driveshaft
Place a cardboard underneath to collect droplets.
To confirm check that you are actually loosing fluid and the wetness is due to transmission oil. From the pictures it appears to me that the rust is forming and if I am right then the leak is water and the plug above the shaft appears wet. Something in the cabin is then dripping down.

The water source may be because your air conditioning drain is clogged allowing water to overflow where it is not supposed to go causing the wet area and rust. Transmission fluid would not cause rust.
Type of fluid ->
Source of leak ->
Repair.
Statistics do not apply as your case can be an outlier and it is what it is.
OEM seals through the dealer will be the costliest but the labor is going to outweigh the cost of the seal. You don't need Lexus trained mechanic to replace the seal so your options are wide open. If you want to attempt DIY let us know.
You can call shops around you to get the cost of repair ... I would insist on itemized estimate on parts and labor]. Personally I would let the shop diagnose and only insist that they use OEM part. I would not supply them the part(s). The choice is yours, but I am sharing my personal choices].
