I was just bought a 2012 RX 350 from a private party in a state that does not use front plates. I have the bracket and the two self tapping screws to affix the bracket to the front bumper. After I do that, I see how I can attache the plate through ONE of the top holes using the little cut out to hold the nut still while I tighten the bolt. I can't figure out how I would hold the second nut in place inside the back cavity while I tighten the second bolt. To restate, if I put the plate on the bracket first, I can't attach the bracket to the bumper because the attachment holes are covered by the plate. If I attach the bracket first, I can't see how to attach the plate. Is there some kind of self securing bolt I can get to feed through from the rear that will somehow stay in place and not rotate as I tighten nuts to secure the plate? I'm sure anybody who has done this once knows the exact method, but I can't figure it out. Thanks! Tim
Thanks I like the idea - some set of washers and an epoxied nut. Do you think epoxy on such as smooth surface would handle the torque of snugging up the bolt?
