for the last two weeks when ever i open the drivers door i hear two loud clicks like something is binding (or a spring is broken) about halfway open and again just before full open is does this opening and closing. I have checked to see if the door is binding and do not see anything touching, there are two hinges and a bar that slides in and out of the door this is where i think the problem is, this part appears to be rivited to the door and bolted to the body. Is there a spring that attaches to this part? or something that could break and prevent me from opening the door? any quick fix ideas, i cant get to a dealer for a few weeks

Lube the hinge and latch parts with white lithium grease. That may resolve your issue.
