The Local junkyard has an RX350 with the thigh support option.... I was wondering would it be possible for me to unbolt my oem seat (powered with everything besides the thigh support) and plug in the new seat without any modification? Like is there just one plug that plugs in? I've always wanted that option but couldn't find it when I was looking for my car.
I think it would be just plug and play since all the controls are on the seat. The power connection should be the same. How much do they want?
Disconnect the battery when doing the seat swap. Note that airbag wires are yellow.
Look at the detailing forum for info on caring for Lexus Leather.
Let us know how it turns out.
The junkyard may even want to do some sort of trade discount with your old seat. It never hurts to ask.

Question: The chair in the junk yard..... is that an OEM seat also or from an aftermarket manufacturer that plugs into the RX350? I'm asking because I didn't know RX350's had thigh support seats...
It was available, look at this link to the brochure https://www.lexus.com/documents/broc...X-Brochure.pdf
They call it power front seat extension for leg support. The seats with this option also had the semi-aniline leather which was supposed to be better as it was part of the Luxury Package option.
Even my old 1995 Ford Explorer had the seat cushion thigh extender option. You manually pulled it out.

Do you think it's worth it? I have sciatica so I thought the thigh support might have helped me with that. I'm going this weekend to check it out in person.

I was quoted $750 over the phone, I plan on haggling when I get there. I bet I could get it for $600.
GS has that feature and it helps, because the seat is low and my legs are long. All seats still match in color and texture when done at factory. This cause the knees to be higher that the hip. In RX the sitting position is higher so the knee is not as high-up.
The other considerations are:
Time in seat. For 30-45 mins I don't think it would matter much [Depends on age and joints to be fair].
Mismatch in seat texture and color.
