Default ABS Control Unit

I have a 2010 RX350 after a 'brake malfunction' when my brake pedal went to the ground I brought it in to my mechanic. He said that brake fluid had pooled on my ABS Control Unit and it needs to be replaced. He said I cannot get it used and my part cannot be rebuilt. I am wondering if other RX350 owners have had this problem. The cost for a new part is $2400.

This has happened to a few others. It occurs more often in vehicles that have not had the brake fluid flushed every 2 or 3 years. As brake fluid ages it absorbs water, causing corrosion inside these expensive components leading to failure. Or sometimes it fails just due to age and mileage. You do have over 120,000 miles.
