Door lock
We have a 2015 RX350 and lately the door locks and the tail gate are acting up. Today, for example, my wife pulled into the garage, parked, and exited the car. I went out to get something from the passenger seat and the door was locked! The mirrors were not folded in which was odd. I got my fob, walked to garage and touched handle, It beeped repeatedly but did not unlock. I then pressed the unlock button on fob and it unlocked. My wife says the tailgate is also acting weird. I did change batteries in these fobs recently and wondered if that could be the problem. I can and will do that again but has anyone else had this problem?
There is an actuator in all four doors. I assume there is also one in the tailgate.
I know from dealing with my wife's 2006 Jaguar XK8 that a flaky actuator assembly can intermittently affect any or all doors (and windows) in the vehicle, so you still have some detective work to do. In my case, there was a faulty microswitch in the drivers door latch assembly. I ordered the appropriate new microswitch online from mouser.com (about $5), removed the door panel, removed the door latch assembly, removed the cover of the assembly, located the old microswitch, removed it, soldered the new microswitch into place, and the intermittent door lock issues that had been plaguing this car for months finally disappeared. That was back in early April and the system has functioned properly ever since. I had plenty of diagnostic help from the Jaguar forum I utilize and could not have done this repair without it.

My intermittent issue had been discussed and resolved previously on the Jaguar forum as long ago as 2011 or 2012. Several forum members who had faced similar issues pointed me to their threads discussing their experiences. After reading and studying the threads and speaking with a fellow member who has a lot of EE knowledge, we narrowed the cause down to either the drivers door latch assembly microswitch or the passenger door latch assembly microswitch (the XK8 is a two-door convertible). They both use the same exact microswitch so I ordered two of them from mouser.com. Since the drivers door is opened and closed far more often than the passenger door is on this car, we decided to replace its microswitch first. Bingo - problem solved. I stashed the second new microswitch on my garage shelf because if we keep the car long enough, I expect the passenger door latch assembly's microswitch to eventually fail as well.
