Aftermarket Subwoofer
Hello All
I spent the weekend tearing apart my 2011 with 12 speaker ‘premium’ sound.
After 36 sq feet of sound deadening in the doors and some new JBL speakers, the system is only marginally improved.
Next on the list is an upgraded subwoofer. I would like to stay with the stock enclosure, just replacing the driver, but I do not know the depth of the stock driver. Crutchfield’s website implies a shallow sub is the way to go, but I have better subs available to me that I’d like to investigate.
Does anyone have depth measurements of the factory sub itself? Not the enclosure, the speaker itself.
Any help would be appreciated.

Why not take it out and measure? It is easy to access. You probably saw the box when installing the sound deadening.
