Default Question about Auto Dimming Side Mirrors

Hello All! I am currently a proud owner of a 2004 RX 330 and I have always loved the 2010 RX 350. I found one for a great deal and I want to get it but I think it is missing a very important feature that I want in a car, the auto dimming side mirrors. My question is that if this car does not come with the auto dimming side mirrors can I buy a mirror online that does have the auto dimming feature in it and installing it in the car and gain the auto dimming feature? I am looking to but this car tomorrow so your help is greatly appreciated.

I doubt that that is possible.

IIRC, the sensor for the auto dimming feature is behind the glass of the interior mirror. That's why adding aftermarket tint to the back window keeps auto dimming from working properly.

The sensor is on the inside rear view mirror. I guess it would come down to what needs to be added. Worst case would be both sides and the inside mirror, adding the electronics, and adding the wiring, along with painting and the other misc stuff that will pop up.

I would guess that the wiring is probably all there (Japanese manufacturers seem to be pretty good about having a single harness), and the electronics are a part of the inside mirror, but a very quick search for parts for my '13 450h had me at ~$500 for just the 3 mirrors, and that was without the HomeLink transmitter for the inside one, which I am assuming the OP would then have to have someone paint and install the various pieces.

Anything is possible, comes down to how much is it really worth.

My understanding is that you only need the Premium Package to have the Electrochromic outside mirrors.

Does this vehicle power seat memory adjustments? If yes, it likely has the dimming outside mirrors.
