Anybody installed an additional layer of steering wheel wrap to enlarge the grip a little? The steering feels a little thin after I driven other models with a girthier grip.

Great thread. I was thinking about the same thing. I personally do not like the feel of the steering wheel on our recently purchased 2015 RX350, the combination of the leather and the hard plastic makes no sense to me. I wish it was all leather like my other vehicle.
I installed a nice leather one on my 1999 Dodge Ram's steering wheel many years ago. It has held up nicely. I remember heating it up in the microwave to help stretch it onto the wheel.
My daughter has a 2010 RX and I finally got to drive it about six months ago.
The steering wheel was one of the subtle changes I noticed made by 2015.
The 2010 felt narrow while the 2015 had the most girth of any vehicle I've owned.
If you have the wider wheel and female drivers, I'd get their opinion before adding another layer.

Excellent point. I was looking at Wheelskins Steering Wheel covers for the RX350. I had put these on ages ago when I had a 1984 RX-7 and it held up real well. The 2015 RX350 does have a steering wheel with some girth, and putting a leather wrap on may make it a little too big.
agree completely that the thin steering wheel along with somewhat higher than necessary effort to turn the darn wheel make your hand hurt - especially around the parking lots. First I bought this: https://www.autoanything.com/steerin...A3792A0A0.aspx They look terrible and looks like a Micky Mouse job. Then, I installed these myself. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2pnrp4 Warning. It takes forever to do it. Honestly, it took me 8 hours. well, including beer breaks and talking to my neighbors who came over to stand next to me while watching me sew this thing on and drinking other unknown beverages...... it was hot day in the summer. I will never do it again!
On the other hand, It feels much better than the stock steering wheel.

That is a real nice looking steering wheel cover. I can see why it took so long to put on. It looks like it has a suede type texture, really sharp looking. Is the somewhat higher than necessary effort to turn the steering a common issue with the RX350. I've just owned my CPO 2015 for about two weeks (first Lexus for us) but have noticed the steering feels a little heavy. My daily driver is a Q5 and thought the RX350 steering felt heavier than my Q5 which I wasn't expecting. I thought along with the smooth ride the RX350 would have real light steering, not that I'm complaining. I was actually thinking there was something wrong with the steering.
One of the longstanding complaints about the RX line from the earliest model onwards is the fact that the steering provides absolutely no feedback to the driver. I do not drive my wife's 2015 RX350 FWD very often but whenever I do, I certainly agree with that statement.

That is a good way to describe the feeling I noticed. I was just worried maybe there was something wrong with the steering in my RX350. Ours came with the Michelin Latitude Tour HP. Any benefit to the steering response going to a different tire? Unfortunately ours came with pretty much new tires so it will be a little time before I can swap them out for something else.

Feedback is overrated. The older I get, the less I want and what I do get annoys me. Oh, and yes, that also includes the cars I drive
That being said, the RX is definitely more subtle through steering, but I can still sense as the tires approach friction loss points, body roll, yaw (or lack thereof considering the RX has more tendency to under-steer) are all present as a multi-sensory experience, if my butt is up for it at the time. I just don't need to do it at the speeds I used to drive when I was young.
when I was 18 I had a chance to drive my friend's father's Ferrari 308. Talk about steering feel.... I could feel every pebble on the road on the steering wheel. It literally twitched (slightly) with every irregularity on the road. And I mean everything. It was so loud and ruckus that I got tired driving that car just after 30 minutes.
RX is a bit removed from that. but the 19 inch wheels make it about 1/100th better. Otherwise, we just point in the direction we want to go and rely on traction control.
