Amp went out. Lexus/Toyota equivalent?
Hi, I am so happy to have found this forum. The AMP went out in my car a while ago and I'm looking to get it replaced. Lexus part # 862800E040. I understand how pricey a new AMP can be and I'm wondering if there is a Toyota Amp that would be this Lexus equivalent. I'm fine with doing an OEM but I just don't want to get ripped off. I am also wondering if they need to be taken to a Lexus or Toyota dealership to be installed. The installation looks fairly simple but I've heard mixed reviews. Some saying they need to be reprogramed and some say they don't. I don't use the Sirius XM option, so if that's what needs to be reprogramed then, oh well, no big deal. However, if it's the navigation that needs to be reprogrammed is that something I can do myself or that my regular mechanic can do or do I need to go to a dealership. Thanks in advance for all your help! I drive a 2010 RX 350

I would first try to get the original amplifier repaired. There is a guy (factoryradios) on eBay who repairs Lexus amplifier. He has a 100% positive feedback with over 8300 buyers responding.

Check salvage yards. Once deemed unrepairable, many vehicles are parted out.

That's what hubby recommended. I'll have to do a bit of calling around. Now that I actually know the part # it should help. I also need on of those suspension rods that hold the hood up so a salvage yard might be a good place to find one of those too.

Ebay has one amp [but I cant vouch for the seller].
LKQ is a major recycler for Lexus vehicles.
The struts for the hood are a wear item. I would suggest look for aftermarket part with good reviews. Replace with identical pair (dont mix and match). They are cheap enough that you can replace them every 5 yrs.

According to a part number cross reference, that amp is used only on the RX and no other models made by Toyota and only on the 2010 - 2012 RX.
I can vouch for Factory Radio Service in California - reasonable prices and very quick turnaround.
