I use voice recognition a lot when I'm driving for texting. Recently I've been noticing that after I use a voice recognition feature on the iPhone IOS11 and 12, the Nav screen simply hangs and stops and won't accept any other audio/radio commands. The climate control still works, on the other hand.

To be more precise, the following things take place:

1. I press Voice Recognition button on my phone key pad.
2. Car's microphone engages via bluetooth
3. I say something and the phone types it in.
4. the Nav screen says, "phone call in progress."
5. I press send button on my phone.
6. The Nav screen still says, "phone call in progress" and I cannot play any other audio feature........ I'm pretty stuck until I do one of two things: 1) I shut down the phone, 2) disconnect the phone via bluetooth menu on the nav screen and 3) turn the car off and start the car again.

any idea what is going on?

Anyone know how to do a full reset on the NAV system? Perhaps that'll solve the issue.
