Why? (no remote touch on some models)
why do some rx 350 2010 models have the remote touch and some dont? straight from lexus or some dealers do remove the remote touch? also am looking to change my es 350 to rx 350 because the road in my territory is pretty awful, so does it matter if i go for AWD over FWD or it doesn't?

Forgive me if I am mistaken.
I believe you are referring to the mouse near the center console as remote touch. If you have the navigation package on the third gen rx models you will have this mouse. If you do not have the navigation package I believe you get a turning switch kind of like a volume **** for the stereo.

Answered above but see also:

Emphasis mine but "available" means it's an option.
You'll have to help us answer that for you. Has FWD on your ES been insufficient for your driving needs?
Keeps people's grimy fingerprints off my screen unlike the touchscreen we had in our 2RX.

And an available Remote Touch device placed where your right hand naturally rests operates similarly to a computer mouse, ensuring that most features within the RX are at fingertips’ reach.

AWD and FWD ride the same, both are worse than the ES350, I had a 2008 ES350 and know what both are like. I recently have been doing maintenance on and driving my mother's 2010 ES350 with only 42,000 miles as she is giving it to her granddaughter and it has reminded me how smooth and quiet those vehiclse are to drive.

Thanks for your response and help. Anyways reason I want to go for the rx is because of the so many potholes in my territory. Potholes and rough road, really terrible during raining season. The es is low, it keeps hitting the ground most times, my friend uses an Avalon and doesn’t have same problem. So I don’t want to go for another sedan car, i want to get for an suv, reason am asking about the rx.
Can I go for one without the mouse? Apart from the mouse, is there any other difference between an rx with a mouse and the one that doesn’t have? If the navigation is the only difference, it doesn’t matter to me cos am sure lexus doesn’t have navigation for my country anyways.
Hope you all educate and help me further.
Thanks

I really like square "joystick" type thing in ES I drove few weeks ago. It is MUCH better than my touch pad in NX and joystick in wife's RX350. Though similar, square oen somehow worked much better.
Don't buy touch pad. It's pretty awful.
Also, you can't touch remotely. Touch, per its meaning, presumes physical contact. Remote excludes it.

I'm not saying that all RXs without NAV are stripped-down, so you need to test drive/look at every RX you are considering in person. FWIW, I would buy either a 2014 or 2015 if I were you as they for sure have the better windows and are much quieter. Lastly, we think the NAV system really sucks, but so much stuff is tied into that package that we felt we had to have it to get the other bells & whistles.
