I recently purchased a used 2012 RX-350 with around 80k miles. I had a pre-purchase inspection performed at a local shop and it passed with flying colors - no issues. I am the 2nd owner and have all records; all maintenance was performed at a Lexus dealer.
I love the vehicle and am considering buying another, either a 2011 or 2012.
With the Lexus/Toyota reliability reputation, I believe I can easily get another 50-80k miles out of the cars. That said, are there any warnings, gotchas, etc. that folks here can share? I realize I am not getting a new car and that mechanical things can fail. What are the likely culprits?
Nothing out of the ordinary stands out. You can google for the TSB's for 2011/12 . Just be sure to ask for the usual service records. I would highly recommend doing a full drivetrain drain and refill given the expected mileage and that most Lexus dealers pitch that Toyota WS ATF is a "lifetime" fluid. Good luck in finding your next "new to you" Lexus!
