I noticed that in the ads for the US release of the Lexus RX350 (think you guys got release in 2010), the RX had voice control for navigation, phone, air con and some other stuff that escapes me for the moment. Here in Australia I have a 2011 RX350 and the voice recognition is only for calls. Is there a way to enable this functionality in my car? Was it changed from 2011 on (even though it is now common in later gens)?
In Australia there are 2 variants for this model being Sports and Sports Luxury. The Sports Luxury has all the fruit (i.e. nav, 19's, HUD).
Good question. I was wondering the same with my vehicle. It seems a number of features within the nav system did not make it into the Australian spec vehicles, which is a bit of a shame.

Although we have it here in US version, I am not ready to declare it as a feature or flaw. My guess is that most users after trying and after being disappointed have never used it ever again.
That has exactly been our experience. It's a novelty not actually useful because of its issues, unfortunately. It may be a YMMV thing but I wouldn't be looking into getting it based on our experience with it.
Even the USA market Lexi of that era had very limited voice commands.
Try - "Raise Temperature" , "69 degrees (21 degrees?)", "FM" (won't do "93.1 FM" until 2016),
"Show Chinese Restaurants" generic search, shows all...
