Default 2011 Rx 350 raditor neck leak

Does any one know what this round plug is at the neck of the radiator? I have a 2011 Rx 350 that has this plug with a washer at the neck of the radiator.
My research found that its only put on a few years 2011 but not before 2009 or after 2015. Most models have a replacement neck. Mine does not.
There is a video about twisting the plastic plug to prevent leaking. Someone replied it is a plug and is not threaded. Another guy used expoxy resin.
Does anyone know what this is, Im guessing a secondary releif valve is best guess, but again no idea. I finally called a frind of mine. Lexus mechenic for many years.
He has seen thsi several times and has np idea what it is. Would lexus put a plug at the end of the next of the radiator, right under the cap, that would eventually fail so I have to buy a new radiator?
Any advise greatly appreciated. New radiator or washer/epoxy?

Rx300 2001 AWD Great engine trannys were bad

What is it and is it repairable? Is it threaded? Looks like changing gasket would be easy but nobody sells the gasket. I'll keep searching and wait to hear. Thanks!

When I've tried to remove that plug it ended up breaking didn't want to come out. Time for a new radiator.

Yet another reason to publicly shame any manufacturer (almost all of them nowadays) who uses plastic parts in their cooling systems....

Yup as well as I/C's.....You can thank the bean counter's. Thats where the aftermarket comes in,,but not for rx's.....Major negative is that piece of crap that Toyota calls a dash pad for all the gen 2 rx's.......The pad on our rx isn't cracked or damaged, just pretty shotty, I used a http://covercraft.com dash pad as I'ved used on other vehicles.....

My 2012 RX was doing the same thing. I wiped off the coolant residue and put a new pressure cap on the radiator about 6 months ago. No more leakage since then. Don't know if I solved the problem, will see how it does thru the summer.

That might be designed that way. If it was anywhere else I doubt it would be visible.

I ended up changing out my radiator and thermostat because of this.

Lexus called it a freeze plug???? It does not have any threads. Epoxy not a bad idea. LIquid nails?
Either way you need to............... ....................replace the radiator with the same defective plug. Maybe someone knows an aftermarket that does not have it but I don't.
Be mindfull about the radiator you have. If you have the tow package and larger altenator, you have to get the correct radiator that has the extra fittings for the tranny cooler.
Try and find the toyota part number. A few screw-ups on the car, I have to do the window motors tomorrow. All that being said my opinion damn good car!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had an ES 300 with chrome rims and gold package. Wife didnt like the flashy tan on gold. Sold.
2001 RX 300...............great car aweful transmission.
Current 2011 Rx 350 tow package.
Safe solid really appreciate the REAL wood trim.
Not really fond of the new grills on the lexuses but I'll take them over a benz anyday.
Best!!

If the extent of the leak is limited to a tiny seepage over a very long period of time that encrusts that little I would leave it alone but keep an eye on it, wipe it off from time to time and keep an eye on coolant level. As long as it's not blowing out or threatening to do so it's quite likely not a huge problem. Messy in appearance, yes.
