Larger or other improvements from 2nd Gen?
Is the 3rd gen overall larger, same size or smaller than the 2nd Gen? What improvement are you most happy about? I have a 2008 and may consider upgrading in a year.
We had a 2008 and recently replaced it with a 2015. I don't know if the actual dimensions have increased but there seems to be more room for passengers in the rear. Handling is a bit better as well though it's obviously still no sports car. However, our 2015 already has more squeaks and rattles than our 2008 (built in Fukuoka) did even after 10 years of service. Fuel economy for the 450h is definitely better than it was for the 400h. No idea on the 2RX 350 versus the 3RX 350 though. Factory bluetooth streaming is nice to have though our aftermarket solution for our 2008 worked well for us. Ventilated seats were a plus for us as well being in Houston. Being able to associate a given memory preset with a specific fob is also a plus for us as our seating and mirror settings differ.

check out post #19 for the difference between Gen 2 and Gen 3. You'll be surprised. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...x-model-2.html
....... and the trunk space in the Gen 1 had a wider load space. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...s-gen-3-a.html
I had an 3rd gen RX 350 as a loan vehicle several years ago when I was getting my 2nd Gen RX330 serviced.
The interior of the 3rd gen RX350 did feel more airy and spacious, although that may have been because of the steeper windshield and more greenhouse.
The interior material also felt more luxurious and more upscale compared to the 2nd generation. The infotainment system and electronics was more modern - although I didn't really like the added complexity.
The steering, brake controls, etc. were electronic (drive by wire) and felt lighter to operate compared to hydraulic and mechanical steering and brake. I think I'll stick with my 2nd Gen RX though.
