Default Front Bumper Retainer replacement? Is it necessary?

Just curious if any of you changed your front bumpers or know about this retainer brackets. I placed an ebay link below for an idea what I am talking about
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-2012-L...9Y5S98&vxp=mtr

I am having mixed reviews on if I need a new one when I replace my new bumper. The one thats on there seem fine. No damage.
I understand that the bumper itself has a thing piece of plastic that this bracket "bites" to.
When I removed my old bumper it just ripped right off the old one.
But is it necessary to replace the retainer mount. It seems like solid piece of plastic.

The only part that seems to be disposable it the bumper.
That thin strip holding the bumper easily rips
is there a technique to get the bumper off without ripping it (for future)

They do come off without ripping the tabs off . We take them off and on every day with out problems . You do need to be careful doing it though .
