I just picked up a 2013 RX350 and noticed that there is a slight vibration when the vehicle is stopped in drive or reverse. There is no vibration at all when its in park or neutral. Anyone else notice this in their RX?
I had to replace all engine mounts at 93 000 miles on 3.5L. Only one side one was approximately OK, the rest was in various deterioration stages.
Otherwise, when was the last tune up?
It currently has 82,000 kms or 51,000 miles. The Carfax showed a left side accident, but was only $6000 damage, which in Canada is not very much. Whoever fixed it did a great job; I think the accident was on the rear corner, but I don't know for sure. I found a small paint run on the inside of the rear drivers side door, and the rear bumper on that side is just a hair out of alignment, which makes me think that area was repaired. The first owner did all the maintenance on time, and the vehicle runs great, so it's definitely not a maintenance issue. All fluids, including: the transmission, differential, & transfer cases fluids were changed on time. The maintenance history is impeccable. The dealership replaced two wheel bearings and front brake pads when it was traded in, and the rear shocks were replaced around 50,000 kms. Aside from that, there is no other problems in the service history.
ukrkoz, how much was it to replace all of the engine mounts?
Took the Lexus out again today and it seems to only have vibration when the vehicle hasn't warmed up yet. It's buttery smooth when the vehicle is warm. Must just be a characteristic of the vehicle?
Probably that is the case and the extreme cold in Alberta does not help. Plus you are getting used to the new to you normal noises and vibrations of a different vehicle. After a while you will no longer notice them. Same as with your old vehicle most likely.
