Remote start
#2
I to would like to know if an aftermarket remote starter would be voided. You know how dealers are with warranties. I call it the " FIRST RED LIGHT WARRANTY". First red light you get to there is no more warranty.

Remote starter is available through Lexus .. I am sure it will be expensive but the warranty will remain in tact.
Warranty is complicated. If harness it cut and spliced and the problem for which you seek warranty repair uses the harness, then obviously the warranty repair will be denied. Now if the same harness is spliced and the warranty repair is for rear shock, then the warranty repair should be honored.
So remote starter in one extreme would impact warranty on electrical stuff.

I was very close to buying the components for the factory remote start set-up. Involved removing some interior components to install but look like an easy job. No cutting/splicing required as the harness is set-up to receive the components. Read here numerous times the factory set-up has a very limited range, however, and my decision was changed due to this.
Anyone outside a qualified dealer cutting into a wiring harness..............not for me.
